Online Giving
From the Pastor,
I would like to talk to you about something that can be misunderstood and used by the enemy to cause confusion. That something is online giving.
I believe God wants Northside Fellowship to have all the funds we need to do the work He wants us to do. I also believe there is a lot He wants us to do. At the present time, we give 100% of our Christmas offering to foreign missionaries and 100% of the Easter offering to home missionaries. The other 50 weeks of the year, we give generously to various needs. God wants to do more through us. In the past we have failed by not offering the opportunity to give online.
For example, Millennials (20-36 years old) use technology for just about everything – look up a telephone number, purchase and sell items, book a hotel room and the list goes on and on. Usually they don’t carry a checkbook or cash. Credit cards are replaced with debit cards. Consequently, the offering plate has no way for them to be a part of monetary giving.
I realize that many in this world see the church as a money-hungry institution. As a result, we are afraid to talk about money. Ironically, this was one of Jesus’s favorite subjects. He knew “wherever your treasure is there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). As a church, we are a family of believers and we do not want anyone to miss out on the blessings of sharing with others in need.
I do not preach very much about “money”, but I do about discipleship. The reason is simple: I believe discipleship involves the entire believer.
I hope the purpose of this note is clear. We are not begging for money, but we do want to provide a method for those that want to give via online giving. As a church, God had provided “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Ephesians 3:20)
It is a privilege to serve in such a church family.
Pastor Joey
P.S. I have used the online giving and I think you will like it.
